Even big, established companies can benefit from doing this. Take to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram and ask your customers to engage with you. Take advantage of these platforms to make comments to your customers on an individual basis, or start your own hashtag event using a funny or relevant hashtag for your business.

This sort of personal interaction builds customer loyalty and makes doing business more fun. If you don’t have someone who handles your social media interactions, consider hiring someone to tackle the job. Frequent, regular social media interaction can really boost your business and bring your customers closer to you.

Have a little friendly competition

Summertime is a great time to have a competition, whether it’s a giveaway or a competition that requires something more hands-on in order for customers to win. Give your customers a chance to print colouring sheets, greeting cards and bookmarks, and they’ll not only appreciate the thoughtfulness, they’ll also be doing your marketing for you.
