Get your employees moving

Being tied to a phone or a desk all day can be emotionally and physically draining. Give your customer service employees plenty of opportunities to move around and gain back some of that lost energy throughout the day. Encourage daily walks during breaks by giving your employees pedometers and a walking goal. If outdoor walking isn’t an option, can you put one or more treadmills in your break room? All activity helps, so ask your employees what they’d like and try to incorporate as much as you can.

Watch for workload mismatch

No matter how much training you provide, not every employee will work at the same speed or level of confidence. This will not only boost accountability, it will take the pressure off of employees who may be on the verge of burning out while still allowing others a chance to shine.

Be flexible

Your employees are only human, and they likely have commitments to family and friends during the busy holiday season. Allow them time off when they need it to avoid burnout and they’ll be better employees for it.
