How to Reward Your Employees for Great Customer Service

Employees who are rewarded for doing a great job tend to do better overall. If you want your employees to offer better customer service, reward them for their efforts. Here are some ways to reward your employees for great customer service.

Praise them

This is the best way to begin rewarding your employees for providing great customer service. Sometimes just acknowledging their great work can go a long way towards ensuring future customer service success. Plus, by creating an environment where employees are publicly praised, it encourages other employees to work harder for the same treatment.

Reward employees praised by customers

If your customers are singing the praises of one of your employees, you should be, too. Give a gift of paid time off, buy them lunch or give them a gift card, but do something out of the ordinary to make sure you appreciate their efforts. It takes a very special kind of employee to be eliciting praise from your customers, so make sure you appreciate them.

Throw them a party

If you want to reward the entire department for their great customer service, throw them a small party. If you have to, do it during office hours and use other employees to cover for them while you show your appreciation. Alternately, take them out for an extended lunch and celebrate their hard work.

Create an ‘Employee of the Month’ award

To encourage ongoing excellence in customer service, grant the ’employee of the month’ award to one employee every month. Give that employee a special perk, like a gift card or paid time off, and hang their photo on a wall for customers and other employees to see. It could inspire some friendly competition and result in great customer service throughout the department.
