Customer service resolutions for 2017

Customer ServiceWith the New Year looming large, now is the time to make those resolutions. Your company should make them, too. Here are some customer service ‰Û÷resolutions’ that you should consider for 2017.

Resolve to train your staff better

Look for ways you can improve your customer service training in order to provide better service to your customers. Your employees are the front line–if they come across as unskilled or inept, or worse, uncaring, then your company will get a bad reputation. Invest in good training for your customer service staff and you’ll reap the benefits for years to come.

Resolve to empower your employees

Give your employees the ability to make decisions and provide real help to your customers. This shortens the amount of time that customers have to wait for results and gives your employees a sense of responsibility and pride in their work. Independence can lead to really great things for your business, so don’t be afraid to give your customer service team more power to get things done.

Resolve to greet customers better

Do you currently greet your customers with an automated message and a dizzying array of choices to wade through before they reach an actual human being? You can do better than that, and your customers deserve it. Resolve to greet your customers with a live voice, and one that is cheerful and helpful, too.

While you’re at it, resolve to improve the way you say goodbye to your customers, too. Make sure every call is resolved to the best of your ability, and follow up if necessary to make sure your customers get the treatment they deserve. This will leave a positive memory with them that will help keep happy to be your customers.

Resolve to use all avenues for customer service

Don’t overlook using social media and mobile access to provide round the clock customer service opportunities. With more people using social media to communicate with businesses, it just makes good sense to give your customers one more way to interact with you.
