These options are not only faster than waiting for someone to answer a telephone call, they’re also available around the clock. Give your customers multiple ways to contact you and be available as often as possible to handle their issues.

Are you up to date on the latest information and training in your field?

While the basics of great customer service don’t change, the ways in which you can help your customers might. Are you familiar with all the ways you can help your customer with their issue? Do you know everything there is to know about the products and services that you offer?

Stay up to date on all aspects of your company’s business so that you can help your customers more efficiently. Take advantage of training courses to help grow your customer service skills. Always be willing to learn a new, better way of providing excellent customer service.

Are you being reactive or proactive?

When you first started working in customer service, you likely made it a point to go out of your way to help customers with their problems. Over time, this enthusiasm can wane and you may find that you’re simply doing the bare minimum needed to solve your customers’ problems.
